Regional meeting of electronic communications regulators in Skopje

Skopje, 21.08.2014. Starting today, the Agency for Electronic Communications will host in the next two days the regional meeting of electronic communications regulators from countries in the region.
During the regional meeting of national regulators for electronic communications, which is taking place in Skopje for the second time, great number of topics that are of interest for the electronic communications in the countries of the region will be discussed. The meeting will be attended by the top management of the regulatory bodies from Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bulgaria, Albania, Turkey, and Macedonia.
Among other topics related to the electronic communications industry, significant discussions will take place with regard to the possibility of establishing a regional agreement to reduce the prices of roaming services offered by the commercial operators in the countries attending the meeting.
Within the regional meeting, Technical agreement for cross-border harmonization of frequencies was signed by
the Agency for Electronic Communications of the Republic of Macedonia (AEC) and the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority in Albania (AKEP)
for planning and coordination of frequencies in the cross-border areas for GSM/UMTS/LTE technologies for the following frequency bands
880-915/925-960 MHz, 1710-1785/1805-1880 MHz, 1900-1980 MHz, 2010-2025 MHz and 2110-2170 MHz.
